***Starting this Lent - Additional Daily Mass on Thursdays 5:45~6:15pm***
Stations of the Cross
Parishioners are invited to pray Stations of the Cross at 6 PM on Tuesdays during Lent followed by the Sacrament of Penance.
Sacrament of Penance
The Sacrament of Penance is celebrated every Saturday beginning at 4 PM. The Sacrament also will be celebrated at 6:30 PM on Tuesdays during Lent. Tuesday of Holy Week (April 7) will be the last regularly scheduled celebration of Penance until the Easter season.
Communal celebrations of Penance with several priests available will be celebrated at 6:30 PM on the following Wednesdays: March 11, 18 and 25
Please contact Father Parr if you wish to arrange a more convenient time to celebrate the Sacrament.
Lenten Fast and Abstinence
Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are to be days of fasting (one main meal) and abstaining from meat. The fast obliges all those who are eighteen years of age until their sixtieth birthday.
The Fridays of Lent are days of abstaining from meat. This law obliges all those who have reached their fourteenth birthday.
What are Shadow Stations?
It is a very unique and soul moving way to experience the Way of the Cross. The youth from St. Elizabeth Ann Seton parish will act out each of the stations from behind a screen making a visual effect of the station. The stations become “alive”. The object of the Stations is to help the faithful to make in spirit, a pilgrimage to the chief scenes of Christ's suffering and death. This has become one of the most popular Catholic/Christian devotions since the time of the crusades. People of all faiths, young and old will benefit from this awe-inspiring prayer experience. (some material not suitable for children)
Dates are: April 5th and 8th at 7:00pm
